About Bagasse Food Packaging
What is bagasse?
Bagasse is the fiber left after juice is extracted from sugarcane. It is used to make molded-fiber food packaging such as clamshells, plates, bowls and trays.
Choose a format for your food
- Clamshells
- A hinged format for takeaway meals. Consider the portion size, closure and whether separate compartments are needed.
- Plates
- For serving food at counters, events and catering tables. Compare diameter, rim shape and compartment layout.
- Bowls
- For portions better served in a deeper container. Compare capacity, depth and any separate lid requirements.
- Trays
- For meal components served together. Compare the tray size and number of compartments.
Tell us about your application
Share the food type, portion size and whether it will be hot, cold, oily or liquid. Let us know if you need reheating, storage or a takeaway lid, along with your packing and destination requirements.
Why product-specific documents matter
Fiber blends, coatings, additives and separate lid materials can differ between products. Temperature limits, microwave or freezer suitability, food-contact and environmental claims need information that covers the selected product and intended use. Local facilities also affect disposal options.
